My 50th High School Reunion was on Saturday night, September 30, 2023. Of my 154 classmates, 34 have already died (the first died months after graduation). That number included two close friends, one from church and another a part of a trio singing group that I was a part of.
Of the remaining 120, 80 were present at the reunion! There I met the other person in the singing trio (who was a Hospice and Home Care Nurse, having retired 5 years ago). The women who played Golde to my Tevye was there. She's married to a small church pastor in Wisconsin and works as a receptionist at a Dr.'s office.
I traveled the furthest, but there was a classmate from Florida, a couple from Texas and Oklahoma. Interesting conversations with a retired journalist and author. When I mentioned India she told me she knew Paul Brandt's granddaughter. Paul Brandt was a famous missionary surgeon who worked at the hospital (Christian Medical College) for many years. He pioneered surgery for people with Hansen's Disease and discovered much about the disease itself and reconstructive surgery. He also wrote several wonderful books with Philip Yancey, my favorite being "The Gift of Pain." Think about that one.
Many of my classmates are happily retired, whilst a few of us are still working. It was fun talking with an old friend who also went into the ministry. It was a wonderful evening, with lots of fun and interesting conversations about old times and new.

Meet my older sister Susan's family (all but Jeff, who came to Molokai 4 years ago).

My sister Susan (a retired oncology nurse and full-time grandmother), her husband Thomas (who is my CPA), their daughter Hilma (studying to be a Dental Hygienist) and her daughter London. They also have a very hyperactive dog name Jimmy.

This is Susan and Thomas' son Justin and grandson Sam. Justin is also a CPA and retired Rock Musician. Sam is 16 months old and a funny little guy. He keeps Mom Andrea and Dad Justin pretty busy.

Here is the family, Andrea, Justin and Sam. Andrea is a Graphic Designer and they are both fortunate enough to be able to work from home. Sam is adopted and they waited a long time to be given the chance to be the wonderful parents that they are.
